2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal replacement - Timing check
I have to say that this has been one PIA job, not difficult but tricky finding out all the tricks of the trade and getting the timing set back and with the CVVT Solenoid (Reset Value) going out on the intake for no apparent reason but to cause more confusion and headaches. Finally got it running gre...

Re: 2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal and Timing Belt job
Thanks for everyone's help, it turned out to be the "Reset value" or CVVT Solenoid and that cleared up the codes.

Re: 2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal and Timing Belt job
The connections are good and clean and shiny. There has to be some kind of test that can be performed on the solenoid. Can you suggest any diagnostic procedures for it? From what I read, positive side of wire should be 12 volts and low side, when the pcm\ecm activates drops the low side to ground. T...

Re: 2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal and Timing Belt job
I checked the voltage on the wire going to the intake camshaft reset valve (aka cvvt solenoid) and positive side had 12 volts and low side had like 3-5 volts which from what I read is in specs. I pulled the solenoid and everything looks ok but did a continuity test on the solenoid and it tested clos...

2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal and Timing Belt job
I just finished up with replacing the camshaft seals and timing belt with tensioner, pulley, and water pump. I am getting a CEL and getting codes of P000A and P0075. From what I can tell, the codes are pointing to a camshaft position, slow response in bank 1 (intake). I checked the connection to the...

Re: 2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal replacement - Timing check
So if I order the FCP euro Volvo Cam Locking Tool, and finish changing the front cam seals, water pump, and tensioner and idler pulley, then when I get the locking tool, lock the cams in the right position. re-install the gears and belt, then torque them to specs, will it all be ok? I don't have a l...

Re: 2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal replacement - Timing check
Well that is going to be a problem.....lol I went ahead and started the process. I have the Torx plugs removed, and broke and loosened the bolts to the cams, and pulled off belt, and water pump. Is there a procedure for setting the time back when assembling the cams? Or am I FUBAR? Thanks for the in...

2011 C70 T5 Camshaft seal replacement - Timing check
Hi Everyone, I am not new to mechanical work but I am new to a Volvo. I am trying to confirm that I have the timing in the right position before pulling the camshaft sprockets to replace the seals. I am attaching a few pictures and if someone can confirm that it looks correct, I guess I will go with...

Re: '98 Timing Belt Procedure Photos
Hi Everyone, I have a 2011 C70 that I have to replace the camshaft seals on and I have read all the procedures but I am a little nervous in making sure the timing marks are all aligned before beginning the process. I have taken some pictures, and was wondering if anyone can verify if I am good to go...
