Nevermind.

I have the engine and transmission out of my car and separated. My question is as follows; is it normal for my transmission to leak from the seal to the longer shaft (right side) if the drive shaft isn't installed? I have the shaft on a bench.

I had the same thing happen to one of my cylinders. I took it to the local machine shop and he told me that as long as the chip didn't interfere with the wipe then it was worth a try rebuilding.

Mine did the same thing in August and I took the engine out and disassembled it. MY GOD! There was a hole through one of the pistons and a small gouge in the upper part of the cylinder wall.
