Soft top won’t finish closing
I desperate need for help. 2004 C70 with a soft top. Zero issues to date with this top. The wife and I went for a ride yesterday since the weather was great. The top opened just as it always has, no issues and a smooth 40 second cycle time. My issue started that evening when I went to close the car ...

Re: Rod bearing replacement
Engines scrap, oil is full of metal. Nice to see a reputable dealer would sell a smoked engine as ‘a good car’.

Rod bearing replacement
When it rains it pours. Daughter just bought her first Volvo, a 2012 S60 T5 with 91,000 miles. Car looks to be pristine and drove great. Extensive service records with Carfax. We buy from a reputable dealer 'as is', and yes I know exactly what that means. She makes it 95, 95 literal miles and the ca...

Re: 06 S40 T5 excessive engine noise/vacuum
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I meant to post this earlier, but this year was CRAZY. Engine vacuum is good, my excessive noise was coming from the belt tensions....I guess when I moved the car from the flooded roadway to the driveway it washed whatever grease was there out..... that took enti...

Re: 06 S40 T5 excessive engine noise/vacuum
PCV housing is clear. Granted there is some buildup, but on a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 1....Not what I hoped to find, but still a good find I suppose. Time to button her back up, flush the remaining oil and then time for a fresh oil change. There was still enough vacuum in the engine to try and ...

Re: 06 S40 T5 excessive engine noise/vacuum
I changed that first. The whistle went away and so did 95% of the engine vacuum. The loudness just makes me think something isn’t right.

Re: 06 S40 T5 excessive engine noise/vacuum
Hope to dive into the PCV box tomorrow, to see if it’s clogged. Hopefully a little sea foam and an early oil change will help quiet this engine.

06 S40 T5 excessive engine noise/vacuum
If this has been addressed, my apologies. I’ve looked but haven’t found anything, and I’m on my phone. The long version is: excessive rain, when moving the car into the driveway I took a little water over the engine I think... I ended up cooking two cool packs. Multiple cylinder misfires and I ended...
