I might be wrong, but have only seen the accessories connector being used to power the dolby surround amplifier. Well, from the factory, anyway.

The Dolby module has a single 20-pin, round DIN connector that plugs directly into an SC-901/901 HU.
It provides all power and audio I/O paths to the Dolby box.

It's part of the SC-900/901 system that's designed to be
plug and play in any P80 vehicle, although the Dolby is optional.
Here's a nice pic that I harvested from someone's classified:

And just the in-dash OEM amp from earlier premium sound systems:

The accessory connector that we're talking about is the one
that SonicAdventure's empty yellow plug body comes from.
Volvo has provided it for accessory power connections since
the first P80's hit the road. Gotta love those Volvo engineers!

Here's an image in it's original location, with it's empty plug body
attached ( Volvo ships with the mating housing, less contact pins):

Yes, it's that yellow connector I've been talking about too, though I was sure it was for the amplifier.

I stand corrected, I'm profoundly sorry for any confusing I may have caused.

It's kind of unusal, but really cool of the factory to provide.
Constant, switched, high beam trigger, dash dimmer output
AND a ground. That's just plain handy - Thanks, Volvo! :)
