Meyle Left Outer Tie Rod https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... -v70-850-2
There's a reason why it costs half the price of the Lemforder...
My tie rod hasn't exactly "failed" yet. But you can see the crack in the rubber and the grease coming out of it already. It's on borrowed time. So much for a "German" part.

Oh, man. Sorry to see that the Meyle part isn't all it's cracked up to be. (Pun only somewhat intended.)

Contact the US Meyle rep and bring this to his attention. He's been very responsive to my inquiries.

Car parts industry is getting through some hard times these years. Is it so widespread to sell parts that start failing 6 months later. That is not reasonable, no matter the price. I expect the cheapest part out there to last a minimum of 3 (three) years, but this is far from reality.

it is true they guarantee, so better get a refund. To me, this guarantee sounds more like a trap. I once bought a muffler 'life time guaranteed'. It broke in 6 months, next one also last 6 months. Paper like quality. I paid twice for labor, $200. It the same with these sites. They know very well the cheapest parts they are selling don't last, people talk everywhere on forums, everybody knows. Yet, they still sell them. If they were a serious company, they would have removed from their list these zero quality items, not matter how cheap. Then again, replacing an outer tie rod is not a big deal, but replacing a spring seat every 6 months it's a bit different.

1+,
- These parts don't cost $1M dollars.
---> Now factor in:
- Alignment cost.
- Time loss.
- Return shipping cost.
- The frustration/aggravation.
Is it really worth it? No in my book.
For something so cheap ($25-$30 item), stick to known names like TRW, Lemforder, which easily last some 80K miles.
I am posting the FCP pricing so people can see the difference in price between Meyle and TRW/Lemforder is very small:

I'm with oragex, I would have loved three years out of this part (parts). Now I have to order a piece, return the defective one, install it, get an alignment and wait for the other to rip and install that one, and get another alignment...
