Blend door actuator S80 -99 2,9 Topic is solved

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Blend door actuator S80 -99 2,9

Post by taxi »

Hi!
I havent been here for a few years, guess i finally became expert on the old car (V70 -99).
But three days ago i bought a S80 -99 automatic with temperatur problems in the cabin. Right side works fine, but on driver side i can only get warm to really hot. Climate Control unit can not bring temp down all the way, some air is always going through heater core. I can hear the air flap/blend door struggling a bit and then stop.

I started by removing glove box, revealing three actuator motors, and i thought the one closest to me was the culprit. I removed it, and moved the shaft behind a couple of turns back and forth. Now i cant get the little motor to go back on, maybe it requires more force than im comfortable with?

Now i wonder if i removed the wrong motor, found some info on the interweb that driver side temp actuator is on left side of the core and harder to get to?

1: Does anybody know which motor/actuator im looking for? Location?
2: is there a way to reset the climate control afterwards? I will replace battery immediately after i get this done, will that trigger a reset?

Thank you in advance and greetings from Sweden!

Solution: looked at the correct motor (left side) and hooked up the arm that had fallen off and now it works.
