S60 2004 Can not locate fuel filter

Post by jkbaltz »

I am unable to locate the fuel filter on my volvo. I have read a few things that say it is located next to the fuel tank but I have looked in front of, next to and behind with no luck. I would appreciate any help with this as I am very frustrated! Thanks

lift the passengers rear wheel and you'll find it more easily. It's in front of (towards engine) of the rear passenger tire, very close to the outside (door) of the car. It will be covered in asphalt, dirt, etc. but you'll see (2) quick connect style fuel lines connected to it, and (1) iirc 15mm bolt holding the bracket that holds it all in.

Post your vin number on here to find out for sure. There is a certain type of fuel pump setup/emissions code where there is no fuel filter you can service. It is built into the pump in the tank.

Cars with emission code " A, T, V, 2, 7, 0 " will have the special pump and filter design. Your emission code is the eighth digit in the vin. Check to make sure this is not your car.

Thank you. It so happens that my car does not have it on the exterior and is part of the fuel pump. Thanks for your replies.
