Hey guys,
I've had this problem for a while and heard a few solutions but mines a bit different.
I think about a year ago my volvo had a problem and somehow the cd player coz disconnected and required the code (which i have).
I input the code and from memory it was correct and the radio works however when i go to listen to the changer a get the message "EEEE".
So i disconncected the battery and the code: came up again and I tried this again still the same thing happened.
Does anyone know how to fix this so i can listen to my cd's?
Regards
Luca

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
If this is a 6 disc remote changer I had the same problem on my 850. I tried every which way to clear the EEEE and, in desperation, decided to buy another unit. I pulled the radio from the dash and unplugged the lead for the CD player. As I did this my grandson required first aid on his bike, he had a puncture and "only grand-dad can mend it". I plugged the lead in so I didn't lose it in the dash.
When I got back to the job my car was blocking my daughter's car so I had to move it. Switched on the ignition and the CD player started to play. The EEEE had gone. That was 4 years ago. I have had the EEEE twice since then and cleared it the same way.

If it is the SC-813 or SC-816 there are two release buttons on the front of the radio, one on each side. Press these in, release them and they will pop out so you can get hold of them. Pull gently on the buttons which will come out a little further. Keep pulling gently and the head unit will come out of the dash.
I give no guarantee that this 'repair' will work but it has done for me.
