V70 99 Abs advice?

Hi guys, My classic V70 was fine when i bought it in October, then the brake pedal started vibrating on its own, then the abs light engine management light and brake warning light came on over a period of a few weeks. My speedometer also stopped working. I had the abs module reconditioned only to find that the drivers side abs reluctor ring was split. Replaced the cv joint today but still have all lights on and no speedo! the passenger side ring is very corroded and the teeth look very swollen i couldn't see if it was split however. Do you think i should replace that passenger side cv joint also? The main question i have is do you think the temperature drop over winter along with the corrosion on the rings could have led to both rings splitting over a short space of time? any thoughts/ advice would be much appreciated guys! my patience is growing thin.

Then it's time for something else expensive to break!

Are you able to pull the codes for the ABS system to see what it's still mad about?

Probably not. It's a '99.
He'd need a Volvo scanner, I believe.

The thing is, when i had the module rebuilt the speedo would only read half the speed i was going until i'd been driving a bit then it would jump to accuracy so it was getting a reading of sorts. When the codes were read it indicated a speed signal fault. Then i started checking wiring and abs rings. However when i disturbed the split abs ring there was no speedo reading at all after that. Also now when i drive off the brake warning light comes on at about 15 mph without fail consistently which leads me to believe that the module is fine as it is running a test and reporting the fault consistently and not randomly like it was before it was repaired. What do you think?

I'd check all the sensors and tone rings!

Ok guys, a quick update. I have now replaced both front cv joints which had badly corroded and cracked abs rings on them. As mentioned earlier my abs module has been reconditioned with a 2 year warranty. So now my speedometer is working!! My engine management light is off and so is my brake warning light!! yeeeeha! - however my abs light is still on. I have driven the car for 10 miles+ at a variation of different speeds but it still refuses to go out. Any further advice guys? is there any way to turn off the light manually? I can't afford to pay Volvo rates to have them interrogate the computer. Pls help guys i've been tortured by this issue for 4 months now i'm even dreaming about abs in my sleep!!

Easy. Just pull off the negative battery cable for a few minutes. That should reset it...then test the ABS, go out and stomp your brakes hard in an area you won't get rear-ended

If the light comes on again, you'll have to read the codes again to figure out what it's mad about.

Thanks buddy, i've tried that, the battery disconnection only reset the engine management light not the abs light. It has been on continuously for 3 months now. Any other ideas?

Contact the folks that rebuilt it and start askin' questions...
