The drivers seatbelt has locked while i was buckled up and it wouldn't wind up again at all - I've tried it the soft and the tough way.
Do I have to take it to a mechanic or can I fix it myself - without making it worse ?

Usually very gentle pulling on the belt releases the inertial lock and allows the belt to retract. I have seen older belts that have locked because the inertial lock has broken and the only answer for that is replacement of the belt.
