According to VADIS, it's on the top of the radiator and is connected to the intake manifold by a hose.volvo-driver wrote:Would someone do me a BIG FAVOR and help me find where the MAP sensor goes on my 2004 S60 B5244S? I was out this morning about to change it when I realized the the diagram that the dealer gave me was NOT for the MAP sensor. Its for a sensor on the end of the fuel rail. My spidey-senses should have off when he handed me the diagram but, of course, it failed me yet again.
Thanks in advance

I am having a similar problem with an 03 V70 non-turbo. I just changed the pressure sensor (which is in the same place as pictured and looks the same) and am still getting the P0106 code. Is there also a Baro sensor on an 03 V70 non-turbo? The description for the P0106 code shows manifold absolute pressure/baro sensor out of range, so now I am wondering if it was a baro sensor and not the pressure sensor? I only get this code when driving along between 1500 and 2500 rpms with a steady throttle for a couple minutes. Joe

Hi guys. I know this post is a bit old but I was wondering if anyone solved this issue? i'm having the same exact problem with my '04 s60 and read that there is another baro sensor mounted to the ECM. A little hesitant to spend the money without knowing for sure....
Did you fix this problem?

This may not be much help but it is the description of the MAP sensor and other info.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
284: ECM-140A Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. Faulty signal, B5244S
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-140A
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) measures the pressure in the intake manifold using a sensor.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the sensor value deviates too much from a calculated model.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is diagnosed at a fixed engine speed above 1100 rpm and with the engine at operating temperature (>70 °C).
Substitute value
Value from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is used.
Possible source
Contact resistance in the connector
Defective hose connector
Damaged manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor.
Fault symptom
Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
Poor accelerator pedal (AP) response.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It says that the MAF is used to substitute values when the MAP is not operating correctly. Maybe changing the maf at the same time and possibly getting the software re-loaded will keep the cel off, as long as your sure the new MAP/baro sensor is working right. We don't sell the MAP sensor very often on non-turbo cars, all the time for turbo cars. I usually know it as the baro sensor for non-turbo and map sensor for turbo.

Thanks for the response. So i've replaced the MAP sensor and also the vacuum line going to it for good measure. The electrical connector was clean too. I clear the code, but it comes back after a few weeks.
Is there anything i can do to clean/test the MAF?
