S80T6 Alternator 120 or 140 Amp

Hi,

I'm not sure if I need to replace the whole alternator or just the governor. How can I test for it.
Also, if I have to replace the alternator do buy the 120, 140 or 160 amps? Which is best for my'
Volvo.

Well let's hope all you need is the voltage regulator or governor as you call it. It is part number 8637851. If you need the whole alternator, it will be quite expensive. Check your old one to see if you have a 140 or 160 amp, or email the vin and I can look it up.
