rebuilding B5234T 855 97 Engine for performance

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

rebuilding B5234T 855 97 Engine for performance

Post by charlyW »

Time has come to consider rebuilding my T-5's engine for performance so far this is the plan

Ported head both inlet/exhaust
3 angle grind
Mild/Fast Road Cams AW50-42 auto can take them as its ECU Controlled [yessss!!! at last]
Custom Map
+0.50 rebore engine has completed 250,000 miles and is the standard UK oversize
H Beam Con rods
Pistons not sure on which crown to use : advise please
Larger valves
Larger intercooler
Balanced Crank
Larger Turbo Charger unsure which : advise please
Higher pressure oil pump
Transmission oil cooler 13 row

I don't think I've missed anything from my plan going to take 2 weeks to get the engine rebored then locating the parts over a few months.

Since you're upgrading the rods anyway, go for the biggest one you can wedge in there.

Thanks that does make good reading. Read it several times still doesnt really give what I want now I've decided to rebuild an engine I need to begin gathering the parts and over here I can only get genuine volvo +0.50 pistons, there no longer seem to be aftermarket pistons available unless I go to the extreme expense of having a set cast to my specs but as I don't know what specs they should be thats not an option. I've found a few companies like Wiseco and Volvo Motorsports who will export some. Making matters worse after a discussion with one of FCP Grotons people the UK Spec piston is different to the US Design so that makes life really difficult it might prove all us pistons are different in design to the UK/EU Spec.

I guess my question is does anyone know where I can import some pistons and con rods any company detail will be appreciated as long as they export to the UK, as I've found loads of great US Companies who can do exactly what I need at the price I want to find they don't export.

Hi, Try to contact a company in Sweden that is called stenparnermotor.se and you would find sleeve kits for larger pistons, he have also complete kits for your engine like a stroker kit that would give you 2.8L. he have great prices compared to other companies out there. And i know that he is exporting his products.
