Steering wheel creak

Steering wheel creak

When I turn the my S. wheel in a low speed or standing still condition, I get an awful creaking noise, left or right. I checked underneath and all suspension components appear to be solid. When I driving a higher rate of speed the creaks when I take a turn stop.

A different post site suggested a bushing at the bottom of the steering column, this sound familiar to anyone and suggestions are welcome.

Is it kind of like a moaning/howling noise as you're turning the wheel?

Steering column bushing
