OK, I changed the evaporator and receiver/drier and replaced the O rings. Buttoned everything up and aside from some minor problems with the drivers side control [cable broke] and recirc actuator arm broken [replaced] the ac is nice and cold.

I used the 850 proceedure along with the guide in pictures. Between the two it went pretty well.

I did not replace the orafice tube [just read this today].

I do get a high pitch sound when I shut the ac off [for a few seconds]. I had the same thing on my 850.
Is this fron the orafice tube?

That is normal, it is just the pressure equalizing. Unless you have had the compressor detonate on you, like all of my Chevy compressors, the orifice tube should be fine.

Thanks Lee.

I assume I can still get to my drivers side heater flap as on my 850? My wife gets all the cold air!

Yes, you can get to it by removing the lower dash panel and it is right on the side of the climate unit. There is a stiffener board behind the carpet that you may need to remove to get access to it.
