2000 V70 AC recharging

Does anyone on what side to charge the AC on a 2000 v70SE?
I only see one port. How does it open- unscrew? pull?
Do I charge it with the car running or not?
etc.....

Please help

Yes, I know-- bring it to a certified repair place------- but hell, I'd rather try it myself first

Car running A/C on, and the port you see is the only port on these systems. Take the cap off and install the line that came with your A/C kit on (if you don't have the line you'll need it) then attach the other side to the can of R134a. The line should have a piercing valve on the can side, screw that all the way in, then all the way out. Hang the can upside down and wait for it to get nice and cool, once its cold remove to can.

how do you remove it?

Yes, just unscrew it, counter clockwise.

I did everything as stated but the refridgerant would not empty into the system. I shook the can like I was jerking off the car (lol) but it didnt work. Did it for like 15 minutes. Nothing.

I took it off the port--- pressed the button and shook the can and all seemed ok but it would not empty into the system?????

Are you sure it's not already full? What's the actual issue with the AC?

Some people say the trick is to put the can in warm water while emptying it, so it doesn't freeze up.

Problem is it blows cold for like 2 minutes and then gets warm.

The can wasnt freezing up--- it wasnt even going in from what I could tell.

Put the can of R134 in a bucket of WARM water, it WILL flow in, (full or not)!!!

OK, the system has the 2lb of R134 needed. It works for a while then continues to blow but blows warm, so I guess the compressor shuts off----- why would this happen?
