No front license plates required in PA? Or do you just not use them, and not park downtown?

That's good. CO is 2 plates, and they enforce it. WA is two, but I never got a ticket for not having the front, living mostly in the city for 8 years.

Any swirl marks in the black car's clearcoat?

I don't know. I never liked that method because the glare of a plate on the dash in sunlight is blinding to me, and if I removed it from the dash to drive, I'd probably forget to replace it when I parked.

It's a money thing now, with the red light cameras we have in our cities. The more plates on a car = the easier a car is to identify via photography/computers = more money for the city/state. I'm surprised PA doesn't require a front plate... I've seen "Parking Wars" (Philadelphia, a TV show) and from a viewer's perspective, that region looks brutal for car owners.

Sorry to go so far off track with this topic. Just one more... swirl marks: if you have anything to add to Bill's thoughts on swirl removal / prevention, please add them to that topic.
