5000 mile trip ahead for my S70!

Post by IVIUSTANG »

Across the continent of North America... and beyond! I'll take some sweet photos for you all, I really think my old S70 is up to the task no sweat :D Perfect timing belt, perfect serpentine belt, no noises or codes; running perfectly with no fluid usage of any kind. I'm tracking my fuel economy for you guys to. Wish me luck! I expect to break the 1200KM on a tank barrier I could never quite hit on this car if I cruise through Yellowstone at 50 MPH.

Sounds awesome! I think it'd be cool if I found an 850 from someone I trust out in the Washington state area and drive it 3,000 miles back to VA. That'd be an awesome road trip. I think the longest I've done is the 1500ish miles to Houston, TX a number of years ago in my old Mustang GT. That was a fun trip.

Speaking of which... former Mustang owner?

Good luck and the S70 should have no problem with this trip. I want to take a few weeks off of work and drive from NJ to Portland, to San Diego and back to NJ. I just have not had the time to put the trip together.

The trip is done without a hitch; it was awesome. Here's the good news, my best tank was 1190 KM and my second best was 1130, my average tank lasted about 900 KM. I averaged a speed of about 116 KPH.

The car was as reliable as can be, even after hitting a bunch of 2x4 lumber on the highway. Here's a picture for you all:
