purge valve

Post by kejeon »

the canister purge valve swithing on/off rapidly. the purge valve works, and the wires have 13.8 v power. I think it's the connection failure.

I'm having trouble finding a connector p/n 6849784 or p/n 91480672.

So I just ignore the valve, and hooked up the two tubes directly. It works well for now. Is there going to be any problem in the future?

by the way, what the normal purge valve's action like? thanks

it will throw a CEL light soon since it has to do with emissions.

It will open at higher RPM or cruising speed to let the fuel vapors burn off/increase fuel efficiency slightly. It shuts at low RPM/idle to keep the engine from bogging. It shouldn't, as you describe, open and shut rapidly.
