1998 volvo v70 divider/rear seat net hanger thingy

Post by pablotar »

Hello, I decided to change out the seats in my V70 with some leather ones and found that the new rear seat has a net that comes out of it.
Now this net works as a divider and would be great for travel with my dogs, or just to fill up the back with stuff without it spilling over.
However, I can't find the hooks, hangers or brackets, or whatever you call them that install in the roof of the car where the bar from this net would hang.

I bought these seats online from a junkyard in maine, so I called them back and sent them a pic and they told me they couldn't help me, which was pretty s(edited), considering I just bought these seats from them.

I've looked all over junkyards and the internet and can't even find a picture of them.

Can anyone know what this part is called? How about posting a picture of theirs so I can see at least what I'm looking for?

Any help is appreciated.

thanks!

If i remember correctly when doing research when i bought my volvo, these cargo nets were only included on the cross country models. So the seats you were sent were from the XC model, and the difference is that they had installed hooks on celing/roof of the car. My car has 2 sets...so you can use the net when the seats are either folded down or up. Its hard to say about installing them.

Glad I read this post. I had no idea how to attached the cargo net. I assumed some pieces were either broken or missing when I bought the car. I was wrong I just didn't look up to see the hooks. Anyways I attached some photos for you. There are two sets of hooks, one set above the rear seats and another set above the front seats for when the rear seats are folded down. On the passenger side cargo net a bar will extend out and attach to the driver side cargo net and then attach to the hooks. Hope that helps.

Just made the pictures, but nwhitney was quicker...
Indeed the larger one holds a telescopic bar which can be pulled out.

Wow, thanks guys, I haven't been able to find these anywhere. I knew what the idea was, as there are plastic caps where these are meant to go. . . are those just made of plastic, or do they have metal inside?

No, they are plastic.
you might get the from the dealer for about 15-20 US$
Btw, there are 4 of them. you can also use the net when you have folded down the seats.
the other 2 are next to the handle on the roof for the rear passnger.

Hi, I have a sad, sad excuse for a local volvo dealer; They didn't even know what this part was! The person at the shop/parts counter just looked confused. I even showed them this picture.
I just have to hope a nice xc70 winds up in my local junkyard soon.
