Post by 1pacificson »

The cruise control on my 1995 850 sedan is not working. Can anyone offer any help? Thank you.

I found diagram on line. there is housing that engages at the break peddle arm. you will need to take the knee bolster loose easy to do to have good visability. there is a plunger and you need to turn it to engage the metal arm
BUT first take loose the plastic vacume line and the power switch clip. that way you can turn the housing clock wise or counter clock wise in the housing depending. It worked for me. good luck

The cruise contorl on my 99 S70 T5 works only when ETS light is on. The light itself comes on and off intermittently. Usually comes on when it is about to rain. Strange.

The two most common failure points are the vacuum line to the cruise control pump under the battery tray, and the brake switch as stated. Other than that, sometimes the turn signal lever goes bad or the cruise control relay, but those would be last on my list to troubleshoot.

Trying to find the vacuum line. Is this vacuum line easily visible or accessible? Do I have to take the battery out? Does it connects to intake manifold vacuum line?

On a '99 you don't have a cruise control pump. The cruise control is operated through the ETM. If it's flaking out like many are, it probably won't work.

one less thing to worry about. but ETM seems to be the source of many bad things.
