Light behind the speedo keeps going on and off

Hello,

First time post but hoping someone can help me out. My V40 speedo is only half lit, the l/h side of the dial is in the dark. Occassionaly, it comes back on so I am assuming a loose connection but I have no idea how to get to it or change it??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I had the same problem with the speedometer light. I followed the directions and all went well, however, once I put everything back together my speedometer/odometer no longer works. I have pulled the assembly out a few times and checked for pulled wires or bad connections and did not find anything wrong. Problem still persists. All other gauges and lights work fine. Also, since speedometer/odometer does not work this affects the cruise control and the on board average mileage system (i.e miles per galloon). I assume they are all tied together electronically and use the speedometer inputs. Any thoughts of what I did wrong or how I can repair working of speedometer/odometer? Thanks.
