2000 Volvo S70 (Jerking during acceleration)
2000 Volvo S70 (Jerking during acceleration)
My Volvo is a 5 speed automatic and it has been jerking a lot recently during acceleration. It is fine off a cold start but after driving awhile it will start to jerk, around 10-45 MPH and on the freeway when I go 70 I can feel it slightly jerk. Does anyone know what is wrong with it? Any help is appreciated!

My '96 Tacoma had that jerking problem and a new Throttle Position Sensor completely fixed it. The TPS sits on the throttle body, it's just held on by two 7mm screws, pretty simple to put a new one on yourself. A brand new one is around $220 or so, but you can find them at pick-a-part, etc...

There is no throttle position sensor on a 2000.
Is your ETS light on by any chance? Transmission light flashing? Check engine light on?
Start with the simple things...how old are your spark plugs? Are any of the coil packs visibly cracked?

If none of this works, check your mass air flow sensor. Mine went about a month ago on a 98 s70 and my car hitched and jerked while accellerating as well as idling rough.

The quickest test for that is to simply unplug it and take the car for a drive.
It will set a code and turn on the check engine light, but it can easily be cleared with a scanner.
Sometimes the sensors can be cleaned with MAF cleaner spray; sometimes they just outright die like mine did without warning.
