What are the appropriate spots to support a S40 with simple/basic/ (non-hydraulic) floor jacks stands?
My Haynes S40 manual isn't real clear on this point?
Any pictures/diagrams would be real useful.

If you have a hydraulic floor jack:
To raise the front, place the jack head underneath the braced underbody section situated behind the lower arm rear mounting.
To raise the rear, position the jack head underneath the outer end of the lower suspension arm, directly beneath the strut lower mounting.
Place your axle stands underneath where the jacking points are marked on the plastic side skirt.
Bill.

Look under the car, the subframe is always a safe place to jack on. On my s70, theres a beam just behind the radiator. you really just have to look around for big metal things that ARNT your oil pan.
Also, check it over and over when you jack to make sure nothing is bending or bad things arnt happening.
