Stuck horn (!) and odometer fix parts online retailer

I've had more than a few users ask about fixing their stuck horns. If you're up to doing the job yourself -- which I have not done and would recommend caution because of the airbag located in the steering wheel -- that is the link to use to get the parts. Parts for both 850s and 70 series Volvos (and many others).
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Just ordered one after 1.5 years without a horn! My kid is learning to drive so I tried to repair it with tape, epoxy, glue, etc. All failed. :x I'll post my results.

Parts came and I installed it in less than half an hour. Worth every penny. Instructions clear. Highly recommend.

My $0.39 fix for a stuck horn -- ground a groove behind the contact button using my Dremel with a thin cutoff wheel, reinstalled the contact and secured it in the bracket with a size 00 O-ring. Insulates and holds it in place fine. Just ground away the plastic where the flange had broken off, about a 1/16th inch ring of rough plastic (fatigue fracture) just behind the button.

For the ones who have fixed it, did you have to disconnect the battery? I'm having a hard time trying to loose the battery cable

Yes, because you're working with SRS wiring, you *must* disconnect the negative battery cable. Also, when you reconnect the battery, turn the ignition key to II and then reconnect the negative battery cable. Do not enter the car until the SRS light has extinguished or has remained on for more than 1 minute (meaning that it's set a code).

For the life of me I cannot loosen the screw to the steering wheel. Is it hard to loosen? It will not budge

yessir. I turn the wheel and find the whole and it seems like it fits, but I cannot loosen it at all.
