Draper tool problems

Post by 99beast_ »

I purchased a new Draper tool to reset the service light after an oil change. When I plug it in to the data port on the console, the green light comes on immediately. I tried the DIP switch #2 and the #3 in the on position as described in the directions. Did I get a bad tool or am I doing something else incorrectly?

Thanks,

I always feel bad making jokes on this forum because people need help (and I've received a lot of help here), but your mention of draper tool problems makes me think of sad Don Draper from Mad men.

You should check the directions again, for my car it is dip switch #1 on, and all the rest off. I have an S70 though.

The directions for the 850 read dip switch #2 on and all others off. If this does not work, then dip switch #3 on and all others off. The green light comes on and stays on as soon as I plug it in.

From memory, you plug with unit into the OBD port, turn your ignition key to on, then press reset. The green light then flashes for 5 seconds and goes solid when complete, then turn off your ignition and remove the draper tool. I'm assuming you did this as you read the directions included :) Otherwise something must be wrong with the tool.
