V70t 2001 automatic flare / slip / other pain?

I could really appreciate some advice. My V70t will cruise fine. Gear changes are smooth (no banging, shunting or obvious 2/3 gear problems). It sets off smoothly and shifts well. If you drive gently its ok. But, drive it hard and it just wont accelerate. Wont really rev above 3k. It has a new ETM and did have some issues with the MAF which manifested as really rough running. However, right now the engine is running smoothly. Revs ok in neutral. On the latest drive I've noticed that it does not get quite upto temperature any more (this is new) but on a really cold day. And the yellow gearbox light has just lit up but no messages. Joy.

Codes were ECM2 1,0,20,41 Refer to dealer.

The battery has been unplugged for a while so I wonder if I need to reset the adaptive transmission but beyond that, any other ideas? It feels a little like slipping and I did wonder about flare as it revved once on 2/3 change but the lack of all the banging and thudding described elsewhere makes me wonder about somthing else. I've not had a chance to check the ATF yet but would low levels / burned fluid limit the ability to rev and why would it feel fine when driven gently. Any suggestions?

Possible thermostat and/or coolant temp sensor
I suggest you bite the bullet and get all the codes read at Volvo
I will bet the are a gazillion INTERNAL stored codes
