I have a 2000 S70 GLT with 160K miles. The car has presented some codes along with some OBD lights for CE and upshift arrow.
The codes showing up are:
P1332
P1618
P0722
P0717
Does anyone have any experience in defining what's happening. I'm trying to prevent another $$$$ repair bill from my mechanic.
Already invested more than the car is worth.
Help with codes
Check out www.actron.com. They will have the codes but you will need to know what system set the code. Check it out you will see what I mean. If you don't know the system, just start going down the list and try and find it. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the direction. I checked the link, however was unable to find the codes in their lists.
I was hoping that these codes would trigger a "Hey, that happened to me" in someone. It seems these models are very similar when it comes to system errors.
The trans shifts fine, but the up-shift scares me a bit. I sense that this will be an electrical/computer/sensor issue and I'm trying to save a few hundred in investigation costs at the repair shop.

The majority of the codes for the '99 and later models are somewhat of a mystery via standard OBD codes and their translations.
P1618 - fault in another module (trans. computer requesting the ECU to turn on the check engine light)
P0722 - vehicle speed sensor error
Both of these codes tend to show up in combination with a bad ABS module.
P0717 - input/turbine speed sensor. Probably related to the ABS as well.
P1332 is for the CVVT (variable timing) solenoid. Have a look here for that. Sometimes cleaning out the oil passages to the solenoid is all that needs to be done; sometimes the solenoid itself is bad.

those were the codes i got on my 1999 C70. (NOT INCLUDING THE LAST ONE)
I replaced the abs module and it was codes were gone.
But i still landed up replacing the transmission anyway.
I used the following to repair it. Useful reading to track what the problem is.

Thanks for the info. I'm scratching my head now since I just replaced the ABS module 3 months ago with a refurb. It took care of the ABS, traction control and intermittent speedometer shutdown. Possibly I got another faulty refurb.

I'm sending him another one to rule anything out.
The odd thing is that he isn't getting an ABS/STC light, just the blinking arrow/CEL.
Volvo should have left things the way they were with the 96-98's and kept the ABS system separate from the rest of the OBD.
