My drivers side window on my 850 is rattling. It seems like it just might be a screw that needs tightening but I don't know how to get to it. I had
a Honda that made the same sound. I didn't get it repaired in time and
when I slammmed the door, the whole window cracked up. Any advice would be helpful. I haven't been to a dealer or mechanic yet. I'm hoping I don't have to go that route...but I just can't figure out how to get to the window...I need to take the interior door panel off but don't know how.

What it is..is the window guide on the back side. I have the same problem, but haven't fixed it yet. The dealer mechanic explained to me that the window guides for some reason are plastic (good idea there) and thus are prone to break easily. If you find out how to pull the door panel off without messing it up, let me know. And how much the part costs.

Thanks

Steps to get to the inside of the door...
  • Remove speaker grille (pry).
Remove four speaker screws, speaker. Disconnect speaker wiring.
Remove inner door handle by pulling it firmly upward off the handle lever.
Remove padded panel above the door handle -- pull up at the bottom and release it from the three fasteners that hold it. According to Haynes 850 manual, these fasteners may break. They should be relatively inexpensive.
Remove two screws (looks like Torx in Haynes' photo). You'll see 'em.
Remove four screws (three if back door) at base of panel that hold lower edge of panel to door.
Pull out plastic stud screw (front doors).
Lift panel up and off door.
That should get you very close to getting to the window runner guide. :)
