Roof window glass removal

How to go faster, stop quicker, and turn harder. Chips, exhaust, larger turbos, bigger/slotted/drilled rotors, high performance brake pads, manual boost controllers, performance shocks/struts/springs, airbox mods and more! Also discussion on HID and Xenon lights, aftermarket foglights and other exterior lighting.

Roof window glass removal

Post by Vahlvo »

<font color='000066">I have a V70 with a lot of rust on the metal frame around the skylight glass. I have a second V70 that is soon to be junked. The junker has a much nicer window pane in it, clean with no rust. I'd like to swap them. How do I get the glass out of the skylight frame or off of its sliding chassis? Is it a huge deal or does it just unclip when pulled and lifted for example?</font>

Thank you for your response

Be sure to have patience when installing your newer glass. It is best to have a helper as it is a little tricky to set the glass.
