massive oil leak

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Remove the spark plug cover and determine if it is the oil cap gasket or the cam seal.

The oil cap gasket needs replacement occasionally but if there is pressure behind it then you have a oil trap issue. Take a rubber glove and put it where the oil cap was. Run the car and see if the glove gets sucked in or blown up. (if glove is filling with air then you must replace oil trap)

Let us know what you found.
I will post procedures for both.

Here is the procedures for the cam seal and VVT

I couldn't find the flame trap/oil trap but its posted here - search flame trap if you need it. Its a black box and some hoses usually mounted under the intake manifold
