Post by jannie 1 »

I un screw the nut under neath the gearbox and let all the old oil

Run out,I screw up the nut,pul out the dipstick and threw 4liters

Of oil in,the oil is trans max m ,but I ordered trans max z because in south africa they

Its a very good oil,so I wil drive it for 200km and then drain it again

What do you think of the oil

I believe you have made a mistake. That fluid is not the proper rating for your transmission. You need it to meet JWS 3309 spec.

Does the Castrol Trans max Z meet that specification? The online search I did shows it only as dextron fluid and not JWS 3309.

You need to remove the fluid and flush with a fluid that meets JWS 3309 spec.

I do not see Transmax M meeting the spec either.

Transmax E does meet the Toyota 4 spec which is JWS 3309

You just do one thing after another without researching!
that is the WRONG fluid, now you're going to have to have it FLUSHED out and the proper 3309 fluid put in

Go to the auto parts store and look for mobil one synthetic transmission fluid, on the back of the bottle make sure it states that it meets JWS 3309. I know it does in the US but who knows in SA. You need to immediately either perform a flush drive and another flush or about 7 Drain and Fill with a trip around the block between each to get all most all of the Transmax M out of transmission.

NO, Mobil 3309,or TOYOTA type;Asian Transmission used Toyota Fluid.

..I would drain and then do this 'IMO' run the engine in drive for 3 min. , then do the same again. This is what I would do.drive is 5 mi. 10 km the drain and refill..the tranny It is made in japan,.ALSO can you get a software upgrade ? .S-69Tr

You need to do a drain/fill to get all the fluid out or i promise the problems are coming. What make/year is the car ?? For my 03 S60 AWD GT i Drained 2 quarts threw Radiator. Then replace the 2 qts threw dip stick. Did this 6 times 12 qts. Used Mobil 3309 But Volvo JWS3309 or Toyota t-iv will work just the same. I know that others have used Mobil 1 Syn and other JWS speced fluids but JWS-3309 is NON-SYn fluid and to me why take the chance with something that could be sooo expensive to fix just to save a few $$ using cheaper fluid. Cant go wrong with what Volvo(Asia Warner recommends).
