I love my daughter, but... When asked why she never closed her sunroof, she replied "I'd only have to open again". Well, the sunroof is stuck in the open position. I have no remote control for the car, and can only lock it with the key. My daughter mentioned that a couple of days before the sunroof got stuck open she had trouble locking the car.
1. I checked for fuses (all good),
2. Disconnected the positive terminal of the battery for 15 minutes, reconnected (no change, still won't close)
This sunroof worked well when I bought the car 6 months ago, the whole car is great! What is the correct procedure to properly diagnose my problem?
Thanks.

Try locking and unlocking the car THREE (3) times with the KEY NOT the remote and see what happenes.
That re- initializes that system

I have had the same problem a few times.
It wouldn't close until I used the remote to unlock the vehicle.

They've done studies you know. 60% of the time I work, every time!
I had a problem with my 99 S80 recently where my sunroof wouldn't close too. I was thinking there was a mechanical problem to add to my long list of car problems. I also have a bad siren on my alarm. My alarm triggers all the time now. Which key are you using to start the car? You need to use the black one (not the gray one). Once I started it with the black key I was able to close the sunroof normally. Hope this works for you.

i had this same problem... and either the 3x manual lock-unlock or the remote lock-unlock worked...sorry I wasn't thinking and I didn't stop after the first one to check if that was it...or maybe it was both...regardless, my sunroof is now closed... just wanted to let others know it worked in case they come here too

It should initialize by closing and opening the car with the lock 5 times2001VolvoXC70 wrote:I have had the same problem a few times.

(the key should work, remote not necessary)!
