Fitting a CD multichanger

My Volvo S40 (1999) has a radio cassette with an option for a CD multichanger. I now want a CD multichanger however i'm not prepared to pay Volvo prices - can i pop down to Halfords and buy a compatable multichanger that will my radio cassette will accomodate? :?:
