S60 Power Seat Switches
I have a 2006 S60 2.5. I need to remove the driver's side power seat switch assembly to inspect and clean the connections. How do I remove the panel and the assembly? I already have removed the seat.

there is a screw from the underside of seat at front of the panel with the switches and at the rear is a pop in cover on that screw. Switch assy has screws on back side once you panel off. Cleaning of spilled stuff or cleaning to fix something?

The rear portion of the seat is stuck in the up position. The seat moves back and forth OK. The portion under my knees goes up and down OK. The seat back is OK. When I press the switch down to lower the rear portion, I hear a click, but no movement and no sound from any of the motors. I don't know if the motor is bad, the control module is bad, or if the switch assembly needs to be cleaned. So, I'm starting with the switch assembly. If you have any advice or wisdom on this, I would appreciate your suggestions. Wher is the motor located that operates the rear portion?

if you hear a relay click then the switch is signalling the pwr seat module. The seat likely has a fault code and the fault is one that stops the affected function.
Locate the fuse for that power seat and while holding that seat button switch in the down position and then remove the fuse.
now release the switch and re-install the fuse. Now see if the seat will go up and down and run it tothe full up and full down positions. IF this doesn't work then it may be time to go to the shop and see what the seat code is.
The motor is the rear of the three under the seat.

Many thanks for your advice. I tried the fuse removal and that didn't solve the problem. Next, I removed the switch panel per your advice. The motor behind the panel has a wire connection on the top that had become loose. It looked like over time the wire was being pulled away from the motor (there was almost no slack in the wire to accomodate the movement of the seat). I cleaned the area and pushed the wire connection in tight. To help keep the wire in place, I wrapped two plastic wire straps tightly around the motor and wire. The seat now works! Again, many thanks!

i am having a problem with my relay under the seat randomly clicking a few times every minute. Also when I try to move the seat it only moves a bit before stopping than a little bit more and stopping.....etc, etc. It takes a bit of time to finally get it to the position i need it to be in. One time i was driving down the highway and the seat decided to move all the way forwards! Any idea what this may be caused from? Now I unplug the module under the seat and the clicking stops but if someone else is driving i need to clip the module back in, before moving the seat...
They've done studies you know. 60% of the time I work, every time!
