V70 1999 FWD Non turbo rattle at passenger's front quarter?

I'm hearing an rattle out my passengers window, it sounds like a tin can full of..pieces of tin can. In my old 240 this meant I needed to tack the heat shield (again) or a wheel cover clip was rattling around in there. Ive crawled around banging on heat shields and other suspicious sheet metal to no effect. (This is my first FWD so the drivetrain and suspension is new to me (20 years of 240's, they lost me when they killed off the 245's. Black armband day.) Ideas?

if it happens when you go over bumps, even small ones, it could be your spring seat (the black rubber circles at the top of each suspension column). These are replaced with either xc90 spring seats or a beefed up version from ipd since they always fail. See if you can spin/move laterally that piece. if so it needs to be replaced. They usually lead to clunks as well as rattles when they fail...

+1; that's the most common cause. Make sure you have an alignment done afterwards.

Thanks guys....any particular year/version/aftermarket maker of the XC90 seat I should order? Is this the same as the "strut mount bushing" ? Amazon has MOOG seats and the bushing looks similar.

Volvo OEM only - any year XC90 will work.
