Tire suggestions?

Post by Meanstreets »

After a long Wisconsin winter it is time to take the blizzaks off the wagon. I need some new tires, probably still some all season tires. I had some 205/55 R16 91H Continental ContiTouringContact all season times which lasted me a long time and I thought were pretty good. Does anybody have suggestions about what tires you like or don't? I'm not looking to autocross the car or do track days or anything like that, but I do enjoy the stoplight and interchange grands prix.
Thanks!

Those Continentals are good tires - I had them on another car.

I put a set of Yokohama Avid Envigors on my car a few months ago, and they're the best tires I've ever had. I think they're supposed to be good for 45,000-50,000 miles or somewhere around there. Cornering, acceleration, braking, wet traction is amazing. They did decent in snow too. And they're quieter than the BF Goodrich's they replaced. I miss having them on the front now that they've been rotated to the back - the old set breaks loose much earlier in comparison.

Michelin MXV4s are some of the highest-ranked tires, but wayyyy overpriced.

Stay away from Bridgestone and BF Goodrich.

I second, NO on Bridgestone. I've replaced shocks/struts and I'm running through these things like crazy. On my third set. Good thing I got a sweet deal and an awesome warranty plan :)

Ive got Contis on mine right now, smooth, quiet, good grip wet and dry, what's not to like? Plus they last a long damn time. I shouldn't need new tires til I'm over 300k miles on the old girl.
