Transmission for a 2000 Volvo S-80 2.9 Non tubro

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Transmission for a 2000 Volvo S-80 2.9 Non tubro

Post by otis »

Hi I'm Otis, I'm back again. Two days ago my wife was coming in from work and the check engine light and transmission service urgent message was on. I told to her to pull over and I had the car towed home. I changed the transmission filter and fluid I used Castrol Dexron-VI Synthetic blend. The transmission is not slipping and is changing gears correctley it changes out at 10 20 35 and 45 mph at 55 mph the RPM is at 2000 after the changing the fluid the transmission light is still on do I need to go the dealer and get reset or is it another problem that I am over looking? Can anyone help me please???

Thank you for your reply,
Otis G.

You need the codes read to see what is going on. It could be a wiring fault and have nothing to do with the transmission hardware.

I had changed the transmission fluid and filter, took the air and blowed the solenoid out, took it to the dealer and had the computer reset and the code that the dealer had was 437: TCM-000B Shift solenoid S1 Hydraulic fault, but it shift fine and it drive fine. I changed the fliud once and I plan on doing it one more time. I have 191 thousand miles on it now. I would like to thanks Jimmy57 and others for their help! Now, I have a ABS and STC light on.
