S70 T5 Catalytic Converter problem

How do i know if I have a bad catalytic converter? My car will only idle and stalls out as I try to drive . I smell a bad rotten egg smell.

there are a few ways. One that is easy on that car is to loosen off the three bolts that hold exhaust pipe to turbo outlet and then go drive the car and see if the power returns. You will likely have to take out a bolt further down pipe so the flange will move away from the turbo enough to give the exhaust an opening to escape. It will be loud.
An alternate is to remove front O2 sensor and use an adapter and attach a pressure gauge. No real pressure (<4 psi usually) should be measured there when CC is OK.

Look for a loose charge air hose. It's probably not the cat. converter.

Yes, lots of things to make a turbo idle and not have good power. The rubber hoses connecting turbo to pipe, pipe to intercooler, intercooler to throttle housing and the J bend from the throttle hose to idle valve all can lose all your turbo boost.
Rotten egg smell follows turbo hose leaks.
