I just bought a 2002 Volvo S80 T6 and the check engine light was on. The codes that popped up were PO422 and PO420. That points to the catalytic converter. The car passed emissions three months ago, which means I don't have to fix the CAT for another nine months. The check engine light is just getting on my nerves... is there any way to erase it or get rid of it?
Thanks!

TURN OFF IGNITION!!!!!
Look under hood and take off the cover on driver's side electrical box aft of air cleaner. Find the ECM fuse and remove it for a couple of hours.
Alternate is to undo battery ground cable in trunk for a few hours.

But does that turn it off for good? Or just reset it?
