My Name is Ian this is my first post. I decided to get a car that would fit the criteria i was looking for.
I found it in a volvo.
I purchased a1986 volvo 240 dl. Rear wheel drive, standard, no e-test ( in southern Ontario 86 and earlier dont need to pass emmisions.) and something i could fit in. I will soon include a photo when i figure that out. I found this car a a mechanic wh ive had work done with before. He said 1000 as is, 2500 with all the work done to safety and make it last. . . I then said "what about a turbo engine" After some talking 3500 was to be the price all everything good plust a turbo engine. He has been taking his time so I want online and Checked out the swap he was looking to do.
In one thread it sais how you have a lot to do to fit that in there.
-wrong motor mounts
-wrong ignition
-new injection wireing i think
-and moove the dizzy from the back to the front.
Sorry this is so long, so i went in to ask if he even knew what he was getting into. He told me to tell him something that he didn't know.
So it seems that he has taken all this into consideration and is down for the challenge.
So i'll be looking to take some pics and post them so maybe that can help some other ppl.
Also i know i rushed into things, im sure i could have waited to find exactly what i was looking for, but hey more of a sleeper this way. And by rushed into things i mean ive already paid the guy and dont even know the year of the 740 turbo thats going in, though im heading over soon to get info.
I'm not going to stop there either looking to keep up with my buddies nissan silvia 240 frankincrap lol.
