economy and sport option change

Hi all, being a new Volvo owner, I had a quick question. Does anybody know if you can go from economy to sport while driving? i am not sure if it is supposed to be set before you start driving, and can you put it in nuetral while moving, to change it? Thanks

Absolutely; if you need to pass or something, just flick it to the other mode. Flooring it works too.

I only leave my car in Sport mode if I'm driving aggressively on curvy back roads; otherwise it's just annoying and will drop 2 gears at the slightest touch of the gas pedal.

+1. Don't even pop it into neutral. Just flick the switch.

I run my 96 855 N/A in Sport mode all the time, unless I'm trying to make a gas station on my last pint of fuel.

By contrast, I run the 97 854 GLT in Economy mode even when I'm sticking my toe through the grille; the higher shift points really aren't helpful in the low-end-optimized light pressure turbo engine.
