CODE P0172

Post by dimasp28 »

Hi everyone !!! I'm Dimas and I own a '95 850 glt with 191,000 miles it runs very well, one month ago I did a tune up and changed the Maf sensor; this afternoon the check engine light turn on and I was near to an Advance Auto Parts Store so they check it and it shows the code P0172 and also said "bank 1 too rich" . Can somebody tell me what this mean and what I should do? Thanks in advance

Time to start checking for vacuum leaks! Look at any of your vacuum hoses on both sides of the intake manifold for cracking, split hoses, missing elbows, etc.

If you can't visibly spot anything, a can of carburetor cleaner sprayed around the lines will tell you if there is a leak if you hear the engine idle rev up a little bit.
