Windshield Wiper not working

one of my wipers doesn't work, the other one is fine. what could be the problem and how to fix it?

I would think that the wiper shaft or link rod has come adrift. The attachment shows the linkage and how to get to it.

ok, fixed it. i took off both wiper arms to compare. it seemed the one that wasn't working's threads were stripped. i tightened the bolt extra tight, and it fixed it.
