XC90 Vacuum Pump

i have to thanks you all for posting so many helpful resources. this it the most friendly volvo site .

now it comes to my problem, see if anyone can help.

the vacuum pump is always running when the car is running, it is making whining noise and really hot. i was thinking replace the vacuum pump, however, there must be a reason why it is running constantly. anyone has a diagram of vacuum pump on service manual? is there a sensor to turn on the pump? please help.... thank you in advance!

I've been looking for the part # for the sensor for over a month and still havent found anything.

If it's running all the time, replace the pressostat. It's part # 30645383 on your 2006 XC90 2.5T.

Thanks for the info, this check valve for sure cheaper than the vacuum pump, i hope the vacuum pump is not burn out yet...

This is the part I'm looking for, I'm unsure what the part number is. VADIS did not have it nor did ErieVovo.

It varies by model year and engine type. The part # above was correct for his 2006 2.5T; what vehicle are you interested in getting the part # for?
