Well they replaced the rubber bushings and the noise is still there. Not sure what is next.

If it was me I would still call Volvo in Gothenburg. What they will do (if you can get hold of Customer Service) is probably get you in touch with a zone rep/manager. You can explain the whole nightmare to them and they will (or used to) set you up with a dealer. They usually talk with the dealer and have them check out specific areas. At any rate, you should go to a higher power here on earth.

I have emailed the Volvo customer service and keep getting emails saying that so and so will be contacting but nothing yet. We have to ship the vehicle to the states on Monday so we can't do anything else here in Germany. Once we get the vehicle in the states we will be taking it straight to the dealer to have it checked out. I am just tired of this already and at this point am ready to just trade the darn thing in.

I'm sorry for you and your family having such issues. I can't speak for Volvo CVorp. and I no longer have friends there (they have also all retired). I just know you should get better service than you have gotten. And you should never have had those issues to begin with. Where will you be domiciled? I still have friends who know people in Virginia (Norfolk area). Might be able to come up with a good dealer name in other areas, too. I wish you all the best in your relocation!

Thank you SimLyons. You have been very helpful and supportive. We are actually moving to Fort Rucker, AL. From what I can see the closest dealer is 70 miles away in Montgomery which is frustrating as well. Can you take the vehicle to a non-Volvo dealer and it be covered under the warranty still?

I don't know the current terms and conditions of the warranties on new Volvo cars. I think you should contact Volvo Cars North America for the information. I doubt a non authorized dealer would be covered by the warranty (exceptions have been made in the past but usually for cases when there is no other option). And if you went that route and there were further problems related to the original issues you'd probably have no coverage on the wheel/noise and tire issue at all. I'd at least give the service department a call (the one in Montgomery), ask for the Service manager (tell whoever answers you are calling from Germany and you might get connected quickly) and tell him or her the whole sorry story. Should get a much better response than with the German dealer. I hope you don't give up on this. They are great cars despite your awful experience. Please keep me informed....I'll be happy to help in any way I can. Sim

Thanks for your help. We are at Fort Rucker AL. We took the car to the dealer in Montgomery and they greased the brake pads I believe and the noise quit when you brake and turn, but now it is making a intermittent popping noise. This occurs when turning and also shortly after when going straight. Not real sure how to describe it but am fed up. We have notified the Volvo customer car and are pursuing alternative solutions. It is a safety issue at this point since nobody seems to know what the problem is and I am not comfortable driving the vehicle when we don't know what the problem is. We are giving the dealer one more try on Monday and then we will be contacting a lawyer.

I hope you first contact Volvo Corp in Rockleigh, NJ. Thye do have a group who really try to make things right. If you are only talking with the dealer, even though that should get you results, you need a lot more horsepower in your corner. They should at a minimum send out the factory service rep. He can and will make things right.

And welcome back!!

Thanks for all your help. We called the customer care number and they told us when we are at the dealer to have them notify tech support. Do you have the name and number of the group you are talking about?
