Had a pretty bad oil leak, my buddy who owns an AAMCO said he could fix it. Said it was rear cam seal? Also fixed a wheel housing or something like that in front wheel but not sure which side. Got it back and still had a leak then all of a sudden it dumped all the oil out while driving.
My observations: I re-filled oil, started it, got underneath, on rear of engine right (as sitting in car), above and slightly right of where the oil lines come out of that 4" x 6" box for turbos, there is what appears to be a bracket of some sort that mounts to the back of the engine that houses a bearing or something that the front right drive shaft passes through. Where that "bracket" bolts to the engine is pouring oil out from all sides it. The lines all seem to be ok, it's just leakng around this bracket thing.
What is it? Would the repair for the rear cam seal and/or a "wheel housing" replacement involved this component? is there a gasket or seal in there that maybe blew or didn't get put back in? The car ran for approximately 500 miles after the repairs before it dumped the oil.

There's a freeze plug in that location that has been known to pop out. If you search for "freeze plug" on this forum you might find a thread about it (or Google S80 freeze plug). It's a fairly easy fix. Also check to make sure your oil separator box isn't plugged, causing excessive crankcase pressure. Just pull your dipstick and put your finger over the tube. There should be slight negative pressure (same if you put your hand over the oil filler opening. If there's a strong positive pressure, your oil separator box (PCV) under the intake manifold is plugged up (very common S80 problem)

I think what zeiglerr is referring to is the caps that are installed on the NON turbo cars in place to block the holes where the turbo oil return pipes enter the block. You may still have a leak here from an Oring seal, but you will not find any plugs there on your T6 (I hope!!)
Indeed check the PCV system, also inspect the breather box under the inlet manifold for sign of oil leakge. The seals can go bad on them and they can leak as much as a quart every 13miles!

It was still a helpful post though, I had an oil leak in my T6 from the same area where the caps would have lived and it was COLLOSAL!zeiglerr wrote:Oops! Sorry I didn't notice it was a T6. Hope it's something simple.
