97 v70 electric window problem

Post by ricrhys »

Hi all
I've had window problems for a while now, up until today only the driver side rear window worked (and only if you used the switch on the rear door, not the main switches) so today my new drivers door switch cluster arrived, I've installed it and now have control of the drivers window (thank god, although typically today its raining) and drivers side rear window from the main switches but none of the passenger side windows are working, any ideas?
cheers for your time
ric

check all fuses relating to the power windows and ensure the nbew switch is in tact (with no ben tmetal) electrical parts. I have known to change/replace old fuses with new ones and that solved the issues.

You may try removing the switches from the other doors and cleaning the contacts.

My cousin thinks it's hilarious to roll down the window in the car and then hold the switch when I try to roll it back up. It cancels out the master switch when the circuit is like that.

Hmm tried cleaning the contacts, no joy, there is only one fuse for the windows that operates them all so it cant be that else all of them would be out. Its weird how its both the passenger side ones

If the master is brand new, then the local switches at the doors at the next logical place to check.
There's a very small chance that a motor has gone, but I really doubt it. Quite rare.

Here's a link that will give you a rundown on the basic principles of the system:

And here's a link to wiring diagrams for the specifics of your car:
