I am trying to locate the high pressure cut off switch on my 2001 S60. I've been told answers from "have you looked under the hood?" to "I think it's behind the right front headlight assembly" or other answers just as useless. I even have an AllData page which is useless.
Can anyone tell me EXACTLY where in the high pressure line this switch is located.

There is not a high pressure cutoff switch on that car. There is a pressure sensor on the high side screwed into the top of the receiver driver to the right (pass side) of the condenser. There is no schraeder valve under the sensor sao system must be drained before it is removed. Remove front bumper fascia to get to it.
The signal from this sensor goes to ECM and it runs fan accordingly and if the high side goes to 425 +/- psi the ECM cuts off compressor.

It was NOT the high pressure switch. After lots of troubleshooting we discovered it was the clutch.
When the compressor cut off, I tapped the clutch with a very large screwdriver and it popped right in. Ran up the RPM and the compressor quit. Back to idle, tapped the clutch and cooling again.
I have never seen a clutch fail like this.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help.

If you search "clutch gap" you will find lots of posts. In most cases the clutch engaging and working a few times until it warms up is due to excessive gap from wear.
It is very common on systems where clutch is cycled on and off a lot.

My 2004 S60R is also experiencing issues with the AC cutting out. My wife has a 2004 S60 so I decided to switch the relays to check that first. It wasn't the relay. I already had an issue with a broken front top engine mount which I believe lead to a broken weld on the upper radiator. Long story short i just pulled the radiator and purchased a new on along with an new mount. I was thinking, while i have the radiator and fan out, I might as well pull the AC and repair that since i now have the room to do so. I was told to purchase a copy of Vadis on Ebay but we are doing this job hopefully in two days and to order a copy of Vadis online, they only seem to have copies of it in the UK. I'm buying it, but it will not be here any time soon i hear. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions for removal and installation of the AC compressor readily available. I would greatly appreciate it.
