Sure.
Meanwhile, this should help you. Make sure to lube the slide pins and the backs of the brake pads so they don't squeal.

Thank you so much! Looks pretty straight forward except for that stud. I have a feeling that mine will be broken or not there!
Are they really necessary?

I've got the Zimmermanns, too. '97 850R, like you. Mine are slotted. Like JBlackburn, I have the ceramics. when I worked for the factory (Volvo) I had to use Volvo parts, naturally. The rotors were usually replaced at 12K to 18K miles! Ridiculous!
BTW: You can get the Zimmermnns turned if you get minimal warpage. Only cost me $24 per rotor (I took them in). The only reason I can figure for the warping I got was from a tire shop with a gorilla on the torque wrench (and uneven torque!). When I removed the wheels I had to use a long pipe on my 1/2" breaker bar to get the lugs loose.
Also, I got mine from IPD. They are probably close to FCP on pricing. Might check them out.

Well I went to the shop after work today and had them drive it. They felt the vibration. Hard to miss it. They put it in the air and said well....they just did pads, you now need pads and rotors but that may not be the cause of the vibration. Ok - fine. I will order parts and have them do it. They charge $90.00 to install my parts. Best you can do around Chicago. Oh and there was no drag from the calipers and they looked only a few years old so i think they are fine.
Now here is the fun part, while at the shop I ask them to re balance and rotate the 9 month old tires and wheels. when doing that they see that the passenger side wheel is bent! That was balanced and went on the back. They charged $20.00 for the balance job. I dive it out and went to an office park. about 3 minute away. Vibration is there. I do some circles and find that when turning in circles to the left, no vibration. When turning to the right, I get the vibration. So, if you trun hard right in a circle, under power, you get the vibration. If you are turning to the left, no vibration. If you are driving straight and put the brakes on, you get the vibration.
Could this be a bad CV joint or axle from the bent wheel? It all seems to be the side that the bent wheel was on.
Oh the joys!

Good thought. I will have them replaced with the brakes. Wish I had a place to do them! Sucks having to rely on others!

Accelerate HARD - does the cv axle shake?
A wheel bearing should be making a whole ton of noise if it is bad.

jb - No shaking while accelerating.
I got front break parts locally today and had them installed. 140.00 parts, 60.00 labor. Not bad. I used Bosch rotors and Wagner semi metallic pads. Initial test drive, same problem. Let is sit and drove it again. 95% of the shaking gone on straight stops. Huge improvement but you can tell its not 100% and it seems that in time the problem will increase. I still have shaking when breaking during a right turn but less than before. I don't have much faith that this is solved. Clearly it's not.
But..... sell able now once I get the odometer fixed. Someone said - sell it and buy a Jeep! Not a bad idea right now!
You have been a ton of help for sure. Thank you!
Crap I put a lot of money in that thing! LOL

All you need is a couple of shims at 20bucks cost.

99,9999% sure this is your problem, my symptoms were excatly as you describe.
I also had new pads and rotors. Problem only got apparent this spring as weather got warmer, at worst it felt like the car was going to shake itself into pieces.
Got the shims and voila! Fixed.
